How Do I Meet People?

Second Baptist Church is not a place for spectators. It is a place for team members. Whether you are a five-year old child, a ninety-five year old grandmother, a busy mom, or a businessman with big responsibilities, we want you to be a part of our vibrant church community where we have a place for everyone. Here is how you can grow, share and serve at Second Baptist Church.

Sunday School

Often, small groups of people are better able to interact and learn about a topic than larger groups are. For that reason, Second Baptist Church has Bible studies each Sunday morning starting at 9:50 am. The size of the group is anywhere from six to twenty. We have classes for every age group, in these classes a variety of subjects are taught. In Sunday School you find a relaxed atmosphere where each person can be involved as well as taught. This is our version of small groups with a family atmosphere.

Children/Youth Sunday School

Each Sunday morning, children get to participate in their own classes. Bible lessons are taught in such a way that every child gets to participate and learn. Each of the class teachers is carefully screened and thoroughly trained in children’s instruction. The Children/youth classes of Second Baptist Church is recognized for their close interaction.

Young Adults

Life can get complicated once you cross that nebulous threshold into adulthood. There are complicated decisions. Bigger stakes. Serious relationships. And a whole lot more decisions. The young adult group of Second Baptist Church provides a welcoming atmosphere for college and early-career aged young people.

Women’s Group

Second Baptist Women’s Group gives the ladies in our church family special times of interaction. Our women’s group, located in several locations throughout our community, are times of Bible study, prayer (and, of course, food). These groups provide a refreshing discipleship opportunity for the women in the church.

Men’s Group

The Men’s Ministry at Second Baptist Church is an intentional ministry designed to reach men for Christ and to transform them into authentic followers of Christ. We want to help the men of our church take up the challenge of living a Christ-filled life in all areas of their lives – home, work, and church. We desire a vibrant, life-changing men’s ministry which looks to do four things;

Evangelize Men to Salvation and into Church Membership

* Establish Men to Spiritual Maturity

* Equip Men for Ministry within the church

* Extend Men on Mission in the community and throughout the world

The men’s ministry is about growing closer to Christ and each other in Christ. It’s about becoming men of honor who can be trusted, who live lives of integrity, who strive to become better husbands, better fathers, and more godly men. This is accomplished by monthly men’s breakfast (usually on the third Sunday), weekly men’s Bible study (Wednesday mornings at 6:00 am), serving together at church and on various community projects, and developing biblical based friendships. We work to welcome those who are new to the church while growing the found to maturity, with the goal of reaching the lost for Christ.

Happy Seniors

Once you get past fifty, the fun has just begin. Whether retired, just plain tired, or active as ever, the Happy Senior group of Second Baptist provides refreshment, ministry, and times of valuable interaction.
