Our Mission & Vision

The mission of Second Baptist Church Church is to love God, to love others, and to magnify the name of Jesus Christ. The vision of our church is to glorify our God and Savior, Jesus Christ, to make true disciples, to minister the ordinances, to edify believers, and to do all that is sovereignly possible and biblically permissible to magnify the name of Jesus.

Leadership Team:

Our leadership team recognizes the authority of God, and realizes that we are shepherds who serve under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. We desire to devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. Our passion and goal is to equip the believers for the work of the ministry until we all attain maturity in the fullness of Christ.

 Will Ramage, Pastor
Our Pastor is Bro Will Ramage. He is first of all a sinner saved by the grace of God and a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ. Bro Will has a passion to preach and teach the simple Gospel Message that saves men’s and women’s souls… In the words of the Apostle Paul, “we preach Christ crucified…” (1 Corinthians 1:23)

While having a heart for evangelism, he also longs to see individual Christians mature in their walk with the Lord. If revival is to come to a household, a local assembly, or a community it shall come from individual Christians submitting their lives to the Lordship of Jesus Christ in order to fully experience the abundant life and power that Christ promises.

The human experience is full of ups and downs, and Bro Will’s goal is to always and ever point the longing heart to the love of God who is expressed perfectly in Jesus Christ. It is Christ alone who brings forgiveness, healing, satisfaction, and purpose to our lives… So “let us fix our eyes on Him!”

“Let us through off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith…” Hebrews 12:1-2

Neal Baine, Youth Director

Our Minister of Youth is Neal Baine.  He has served this calling since 1996.  He has a heart to lead youth into a relationship with Christ and then nourish that relationship.  Throughout the year there are youth fellowships, retreats, youth conferences and service opportunities available for spiritual growth.  Neal is married to Brenda and they have one son, Joshua.

Tom Gibbs, Worship & Music Minister

Our Minister of Music is Tom Gibbs.  Believing the teaching of the Bible that we were created to return praise to our Creator, Tom understands that the music of the church should always be conducive to worship, providing opportunities for all of us to fulfill our reason for existence.  If we are not worshiping when we sing, then there is no reason to sing.  Tom also believes the style or genre doesn’t matter.   At Second Baptist, you will hear hymns, praise choruses, traditional, southern gospel, and contemporary styles of music, often all in the same service.  If it glorifies God and encourages His church, we will sing it.  Tom has been in this leadership position since 2001.
